Contaminants such as moisture, dirt, acids, sludge and wax can attack refrigeration systems causing higher condensing temperatures, plugged metering devices and system corrosion. Filters are designed to trap unwanted contaminants. Proper evacuation procedures must remove as much moisture as possible because the moisture absorbing capability of the desiccant in a filter/drier is measured in mere droplets. This filter is available with sweat fittings.
